Before your eyelash extensions appointment, please follow these steps:
-
Avoid wearing makeup to your appointment; a clean face saves time and eliminates the need for makeup removal.
-
Prioritize lash extensions before makeup application.
-
It’s not recommended to use mascara and eyeliner, especially for those who prefer heavy makeup, as it may affect the extensions’ retention. Apply minimal eye makeup and avoid eye shadow too close to the eyelid.
-
Refrain from curling your lashes on the day of your lash application to maintain their natural and healthy state.
-
Please don’t drink too much water or caffeine before the appointment.
After eyelash extensions appointment, please follow these steps:
-
Avoid water for the first 24 hours after the service.
-
Fun fact: sleeping on your face may result in faster lash loss, so avoid direct contact with your lashes while sleeping.
-
Refrain from using cotton balls or q-tips near your lashes.
-
When using cosmetics, steer clear of oils as they can break down the lash adhesives. Opt for oil-free makeup removers and avoid creamy makeup.
-
Stay away from high heat, which can break down the bond. Avoid steam, saunas, and hot showers.
-
Choose flowers, not your lashes.
-
Say no to mascara.
-
Brush your lashes every day.
-
Use a gentle cleanser every other day (evening or nighttime) to prevent oil buildup. Cleaning is essential. It won’t cause extensions to fall off but helps prevent natural lash damage. After two weeks, about 50% of the extensions may naturally shed due to the normal lash cycle (6-7 natural lashes falling off daily). Cleaning is crucial to prevent oil buildup, ensuring proper extension adhesion and avoiding infections or permanent lash loss for clients who neglect cleaning.
The Most Common Question From Our Clients
1. How often should you get lash extensions redone? Natural lashes naturally shed 6-7 lashes daily, and due to variable lash growth, we recommend maintenance every 2 to 3 weeks for a full look.
2. Is it advisable to wear mascara when needing a fill and unable to schedule an appointment promptly? We recommend against it. If you choose to use mascara with extensions, apply it lightly only on the tips for added definition. Avoid applying mascara at the base to prevent clumping, which can lead to premature extension fallout.
3. I’ve had eyelash extension allergies before. Can I still get eyelash extensions done? Our recommendation is not to proceed. Based on our experience, clients with previous eyelash extension allergies tend to experience recurring issues. Despite using different glues, allergies persist. A new system called UV GLUE has been introduced, potentially reducing allergies due to distinct ingredients. It has undergone safe testing and brings benefits, but as it’s relatively new, some clients hesitate to try. If interested in the UV GLUE system, please contact us or book online.
4. Do my eyelash extensions get burnt? Yes, we've had clients come to appointments with burning lashes. Ensure that you avoid exposure to smoke from grilling foods or when you open the oven, avoid the steam (heat) for a few seconds so that the steam doesn't burn your lashes.
5. Can I swim, work out, or travel after my appointment? Yes, you can swim, work out, or travel after your appointment. However, be aware that these activities may dry the glue faster, causing it to pop out from the natural lashes and make them fall faster.
A few other important notices we thought would be helpful to share with our clients:
- In winter, when you drive your car, let the heat flow to your feet instead of your face.
- Clients with blue eyes or dry eyes, work with computers a lot and are more sensitive and prone to irritation. Any redness should typically subside after 2 days.
- If your eyes experience severe swelling and puffy eyelids, please contact us for removal immediately. Benadryl is recommended in this situation, but your eyes won't get less swollen until you remove the extensions. Let us know if you have a history of allergies before your service.
Our Booking Guidelines Policy
-
Our body's natural routine causes us to lose around 5-7 natural lashes every day, so there's no need to panic. It's why regular Refill appointments are essential.
-
The refill appointment period is counted from the date you left the salon to your return. We recommend a refill every 2 weeks to maintain your eyelash extensions.
-
After 3 weeks, many salons may charge for a Full Set again. At Dream Beauty, we offer cost-effective 3 or 4-week refills to help you save money in the long run. Please return before 4 weeks to avoid a FULL SET charge.
-
Note: We don't offer 2 and a half week or 3 and a half week refills with Classic, Hybrid, or Russian Volume extensions.
-
To ensure fairness and avoid future negotiations, if it's under 3 days from your last appointment, we'll consider it even. If it's over 3 days, please consider it for 1 more week refill. Example: If it's 2 weeks and 3 days, we'll book you in for 2 weeks. If it's 2 weeks and 4 days, we'll book you in for 3 weeks.
